When I was about to leave school, I wrote a letter to my Dad, in which I was expressing my doubts about joining either the Faculty of Physics or Mathematics and Mechanics. Although I had a higher aptitude for maths, I chose the Faculty of Physics, since you can get a Nobel Prize in physics but not in maths.

Dr. Alexander Dirkker is the Leading Researcher at the Department of Computerization at the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg). He talks about his major career shift from a physicist to a culture studies scholar and his role in the implementation of a collections management system in the State Russian Museum.
